On April 19th, China Shipbuilding Dalian Shipbuilding and Malaysia International Shipping Company MISC Group's oil tanker company AET signed a construction contract for two liquid ammonia dual fuel powered Aframax tankers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This newly signed project is the world's first liquid ammonia fuel powered oil tanker order, and also another leading product of Dalian Shipbuilding after the world's first LNG dual fuel powered VLCC and the world's first methanol dual fuel powered VLCC. This type of ship has a total length of about 250 meters, a width of 44 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, and a carrying capacity of about 113000 tons. It adopts the latest self-developed ship design, with superior energy consumption indicators, cargo carrying capacity, adaptability, and other performance. This type of ship is equipped with Win-GD liquid ammonia dual fuel power main engine, with emission standards meeting IMO Tier III and EEDI Phase III requirements. Liquid ammonia is used as the main fuel, which can effectively reduce carbon and sulfur oxide emissions.
