On November 8th, it was learned from the Ningbo Port Office that the State Council had recently approved the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government to expand the opening of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port and Ningbo Port Area, expanding the opening area of the three port areas of Chuanshan, Xiangshan, and Shipu to 58.13 square kilometers. Among them, Xiangshan Port Area and Shipu Port Area are the first port areas approved for opening to the outside world, marking the completion of port opening for all eight major port areas in Ningbo Zhoushan Port and Ningbo Port Area, Add new momentum to the construction of Ningbo Zhoushan Port as a world-class strong port.


According to the approval of the State Council, this project involves five key projects, including the No.1 berth of the container terminal in the Chuanshan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the Xinle Shipyard and Dazhongzhuang Terminal in the Xiangshan Port Area, the Xingang Terminal in the Shipu Port Area, and the 10000 ton terminal of China Supply and Marketing Group.


Ningbo Zhoushan Port Ningbo Port Area is the largest seaport in our province, consisting of eight major port areas: Yongjiang, Zhenhai, Beilun, Daxie, Chuanshan, Meishan, Xiangshan Port, and Shipu. It has over 300 operating berths that are matched with large, medium, and small berths, of which more than 100 are open to the public.


After this approval to expand the opening up, Ningbo Port will add 1894 meters of coastline and 9 berths to the outside world, with an annual capacity of 620000 standard containers and 3 million tons of cargo handling capacity.
